It's easy to get started

Get set up in no time and be ready for API integration. Follow our four-step guide.

1. STEP 1

   Find the right API for your needs

   Take a look at our API library to see what data choices are available. We have a range of APIs that you can use to develop valuable applications.

2. STEP 2

   Create your account

   Next you'll need to create an account - it only takes a few minutes. Once you have an account, you'll be able to manage all your applications and APIs from Met Office Weather DataHub in one place.

3. STEP 3

   Register your application

   Before using an API, you'll need to register your application in the Apps section (visible when you complete Step 2).  Look for and press Create new App on the top right hand side of the page and fill in the Register Application form.
   
   When you register, your application is assigned a unique client ID and client secret. These will be used to identify your application when you want to integrate to one of our APIs.

4. STEP 4

   Subscribe to a Met Office Weather DataHub API

   After you've registered your application, simply select and subscribe to the API you want from the API Library.
   
   If you have chosen a paid subscription, you will need to tell us your payment details. You can manage those details in your My organisation page which will be available to you after you have registered.

That’s it! Now you're all set to integrate the APIs with your app, website or business system. Look in the API Library for URLs, example data and all the other information you need to start getting the data you want.
